OXYGEN APPLICATIONS

OUR PSA OXGYEN GENERATING SYSTEMS HAVE MANY APPLICATIONS

    Oxygen Applications - Mining

    ON-SITE OXYGEN PRODUCTION FOR MINING

Supply of large volumes of critical gas such as Oxygen to remote sites, especially in the Mining Industry, is not an easy task. When production on a mine is interrupted by a ‘break’ in the supply chain, the costs can be crippling. Being able to produce tons of Oxygen per day (tpd) by way of a Foxolution tonnage oxygen generator or cylinder filling plant (CFP) immediately eliminates production downtime and in turn, significantly increases profitability.

Foxolution can offer system capacities from 1.2m³/min (2.5 tonne per day) up to or even exceeding 14.5m³/min (30 tonne per day of Oxygen).

Oxygen is used in gold leaching to help dissolve the gold from the ore. In a process called cyanide leaching, a solution of cyanide is added to the ore, which reacts with the gold to form a soluble compound called gold cyanide. Oxygen is then bubbled through the solution, which helps to speed up the reaction and dissolve more gold. The dissolved gold can then be separated from the solution and recovered. Essentially, the oxygen helps to make the process of extracting gold from the ore more efficient.

Our Oxygen Generating Systems can be customized and tailored for your mining application. Skid-mounted or even fully containerized systems have been designed & developed for easy transportation, placement, and maintenance on-site. Using a process of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), to separate oxygen directly from the air, our oxygen generators are the ideal “on-site” solution to the mining industry’s needs and requirements. Invest in a fully automated system and watch it pay itself off within months.

    Oxygen Applications - Medical

    MEDICAL OXYGEN

Medical oxygen is a medical treatment that involves inhaling oxygen gas through a mask or nasal cannula. Oxygen is an essential element that our bodies need to function properly. When we breathe in, our lungs absorb oxygen from the air and transport it to the rest of our body through the bloodstream. Medical oxygen is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

    • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
    • Asthma
    • Emphysema
    • Cystic fibrosis
    • Lung cancer
    • Congestive heart failure

Medical oxygen can help people with these conditions breathe more easily by increasing the amount of oxygen in their bloodstream. It can also help reduce the risk of damage to the brain, heart, and other organs caused by low oxygen levels.

    Oxygen Applications - Aquaculture

    AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS

Fish farming, also referred to as Aquaculture, has been around since as early as 2000BC and with ever-increasing demand, farming techniques are continually improving.

Oxygen is used in aquaculture to provide the necessary oxygen for fish and other aquatic animals to breathe. Aquatic animals need oxygen to survive and grow, and without it, they can become stressed and die. Oxygen is typically added to the water through an oxygenation system, which can include things like PSA oxygen generators, aeration pumps, diffusers, and other equipment. This oxygenation system helps to ensure that the water has the right amount of oxygen for the aquatic animals to thrive.

Traditional aeration methods are not well suited to high-density fish farming and this is where PSA technology comes to the fore. By extracting oxygen directly from the air at purities (93% +/- 3%) that meet the ISO/ANSI/ASTM Standards, Foxolution’s PSA Oxygen Generators and Oxygen Generating Systems are ideally suited to these applications which ultimately improve overall efficiency/productivity in the Aquaculture industry.

    Oxygen Applications - Wastewater

    WASTEWATER TREATMENT

Oxygen is used in wastewater treatment to help break down and remove harmful pollutants from the water. This process is known as aeration. Oxygen is added to the wastewater through a system of pumps and diffusers, which release tiny bubbles of oxygen into the water. The oxygen helps to support the growth of microorganisms, such as bacteria and algae, that consume the pollutants in the water. As the microorganisms grow and reproduce, they break down the pollutants and convert them into less harmful compounds, such as carbon dioxide and water. This process helps to purify the wastewater and make it safe to discharge into the environment.

By increasing the oxygen levels in the air supply the biological activity required to eliminate wastes in water is increased dramatically. A pure oxygen aeration system for wastewater treatment, which is capable of supplying gas containing 90% or higher oxygen to an aeration tank is an economical and efficient way to treat wastewater.
